MICKEY AND JOIA'S

WELSH TERRIER WEB PAGE

Hi! I'm MICKEY and I was born May 18, 1991. My official name is Ch.Bahrsland's Schoolmaster McBee, but I prefer "Mickey" (or "Mick" or "Little Man" or "Big Guy"). Well, that only sounds confusing. I'll seldom answer to any of them, anyway!

My mom, JOIA, and I are Welsh Terriers living within the township of Plymouth, the state of Michigan, United States of America, Earth.

Here are some family album pictures!

Am I too cute, or what..!

At 5 months old, I was already perfecting my: right hip - tripod sitting. I can also sit without my dupa resting on the ground! ...A much needed survival skill for Michigan's often cold and wet weather!

Mr. Froggy and I are great friends, but he had to be put on a high shelf when my birth mom JOIA came to live with us. She played too rough with him!

You'll meet Joia, later...

My adorable Mom was primping me prior to an important show. I really loved the attention!

...and I looked way cool!

and me... Mickey

This is one of the earliest photographs I remember my dad taking, after my birth mother came to live with us in Plymouth. (Mom Joia sent red ducky parts to toy heaven that same day. ...Cool!)

Thanks, Mickey...

I'll take over from here, son. I'll present some insights from your birth mother's point of view. You did a nice job.

Hi! I'm JOIA. Officially: Ch. Bahrsland's Bundle of Joia. I was born August 9, 1988. I joined the family in 1993, about a year after my son, Mickey. My previous owner babe decided to not have me bred anymore and gave me to my new human mom and dad! Best thing that ever happened to them, I'd say. Hey, Mickey cost big bucks ...I was free! And I'm tougher'n Mickey. ...Hell, I'm tougher'n anybody!

I have a great life. Mickey and I get along extremely well. Mickey is attracted more to our human mom, while I just adore body surfing all over our human dad! And I like batting my eyes at dad and watching him squirm. Dad a good protector, too. He keeps Mickey from pestering me too much.

But I digress. Back to the family photographs.

Here, I was posing as CH. Bahrslands Bundle of Joia with "Auntie" Allison Corn. As soon as I could, I leaped over my x-pen and dashed for the nearest open and running minivan. I was outta there! Those dog show bimbo indignities weren't for me!

HEIRS APPARENT:

On April 10, 1993, Kwynne (f), Klarrisa (f), Blaize (f), and Kagney (m) were born to Kodie, a lovely Welsh Terrier from the Bay City, Michigan area. ...And Mickey is their proud father!

Dear site visiting friends,

During July, 1997, through the interactions of some Welsh Terrier Mail List subscribers, we cyber-met a very special threesome. Gary Schick and Janet Welch of Connecticut and their charismatic, 10 year old, rescue female Welsh Terrier. Gary and Janet taught "Mistletoe" to respond to hand signals, because she was deaf ...and they also helped her overcome the effects of a violent attack by a large and mismanaged Akita. Mistletoe was destined to live the rest of her life with a permanent tracheostomy. Through it all, Mistletoe's charisma never faltered.

Although love and dedication of the magnitude displayed by Gary and Janet might be rare, the Internet's Welsh Terrier Mail List overflows with them. The WT-List membership's heartfelt sharing of information, advice, anecdotes, poignancy and humor seems endless. The Mail List is wonderfully representative of the Welsh Terrier Breed, itself, and the humans they love.

Gary and Janet, as well as all of the WT-List members, have our greatest respect and admiration.

Sincerely,

Mickey and Joia

EPILOGUE:
